How many people died in the snowsquall multiple-vehicle collision in schuylkill county accident?

 At least three people died and more sustained multiple injuries during a snow squall near Minersville, Schuylkill County in Pennsylvania on Monday, March 28, 2022.

About 60 vehicles were involved in the crash, the stretch of road between the Tremont/Tower City exit and Highridge Park Road into a chaotic and terrifying scene. At least 24 people were taken to the hospital. The accident on Interstate 81 was captured in videos, which was posted on social media,showed drivers and passengers lining the snowy road and jumping out of the way as cars and vehicles crashed and piled up in a matter of minutes.

The Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management released a statement saying that,the crash in northeast Pennsylvania occurred around 10:30am on Monday. John Blickley, the agency’s deputy emergency management coordinator, said that, officials believe a snow squall clouded visibility and likely contributed to the crash.

Video mounted on the dash of a vehicle showed how quickly the road conditions changed. Estimates of the number of vehicles involved from the emergency management agency and state police was between 40 and 60, including multiple tractor trailers. Blickley said “emergency personnel from four different counties took about 20 patients to near by hospitals for treatment, and also 3 tractor trailers carrying unknown cargo were on fire,as well as other cars were also burning,when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper David Beohm said Monday afternoon saying, police weren’t able to carry any investigations yet because a fire was still burning among a number of crashed cars and trucks.
